Alexandra Zerner is a progressive rock/metal guitar player, multi-instrumentalist and composer from the Czech Republic. She frequents the lists of women who shred and I am such a fan of her work and delighted to talk with her beautiful and detailed mind.
We discuss the intersection of magic, science and spirituality. Our love for other worlds created through genres of sci fi and steampunk and our love of Tolkein and his Norse connection. All her albums are a whole production with accompanying books full of hidden meanings. Her latest album “Silhouette” is a conceptual album dealing with her shadow self. She talks openly about her own depression, imposter syndrome and the pressure of performing with the likes of Dream Theatre. Perhaps the highlight is her compelling personal philosophies on a variety of topics.
