As much as we may not want to admit it, one of the areas of society that bias is still glaring is in our education system. Minority schools do not have the same resources, minority children do not have the same representation and minority children do not get the same benefit of the doubt in the American education system. These disparities have real and long lasting effects. Individuals, communities and our nation will be impacted for years to come by the education that our children are receiving.
Timothy Revels shares his experiences as a black boy, a black man, a black school teacher and his studies in history as well as in the education field.
