Description

The "wrong side of the tracks" or the "wrong side of town" are phrases that have highlighted what we have all seen. American cities have been segregated for a long time. Many people believe that this segregation was simply a matter of preference, but in this episode we peer into some of the historical and present day practices that cause our cities to be segregated.

Jeanette shares stories from her 30+ years of experience in Atlanta Real Estate that shine a light on inequities that have helped create the demographics of metro Atlanta. She discusses, redlining, blockbusting, communities created for "whites only" and prejudices within the Real Estate Agent sphere. Jeanette has invested her entire life in the metro Atlanta area and continues to live there today. Along with being a Real Estate Agent, Jeanette has always been very active in her community and she has never been afraid to stand up for her beliefs.
