This might be four months late, but MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you out there. This was recorded in late December so Alex and Austin are discussing the stress of the holidays, giving our thoughts after seeing Spider-Man: No Way Home, and drinkin' on some good ol' fashioned Great Lakes Christmas ale. Our topic is the 2003 album Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie, and it's got both of us hashing it out. Alex is defending his nostalgic love for what he considers a near-masterpiece, while Austin is discovering it for the first time and is unsure about it. Much of this consists of an argument over the nasally vocal delivery of Ben Gibbard, who Austin refers to as 'Squidward' (fuck you Austin, in the most lovingly way possible). There's discussion about the quality of music that we're nostalgic for, thoughts on My Chemical Romance, and deep insights into relationships and love in general. Also Alex gets DRUNK on this episode (apologies y'all), so we hope you can suffer through that. Anyways, thanks for listening. Subscribe to the show and tell your mother about us.
