Marli joins Mark and Jermaine to tell us about how the lost autonomy in dealing with X-Factor big corporate entertainment, although she was being mentored by Will.I.Am, wasn't for her.
She shares how Spice Girls and Destiny's Child were her big inspiration growing up as she comments on mental health, "it's a balancing act, and you're constantly wearing multiple different hats…" in reference to her wellbeing advocacy at Marlis Mental where she approaches mental health and wellbeing from a borderline perspective.
Marli also shares how self-awareness in a time of mental health being extremely impactful over the last year in music and talks about how being independent as well as self-managed is a double-edged sword that favours the way she wants to operate in her life.
