Description

Lisa Wirth, a behavioral health social worker (and the proud parent of Bruder the Happy Hound!) joins us to discuss how pets have a wonderfully beneficial impact on our mental health.

Lisa says:

“They [pets] can provide that extra companionship – someone to just be there and to be around.”

“Animals are great because they force us to have to take care of something. It forces us to do some caring, which hopefully transitions to us taking care of ourselves.”

“I’m a behavioral health social worker, and I have seen the great benefits that having a pet can have for many of the patients that I’ve worked with over the years.”

“I think it’s really important to keep in mind if you’re going to get a pet that it fits in with your lifestyle.”
