Read Psalm 41
Psalm 41:11 KJV - By this I know that thou FAVOUREST me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
How can you tell that God likes you? How can you be sure that God knows you by name? How can you believe that you matter to God, really? When God preserves your life, then God favours you. When God keeps you from becoming what the enemy desires for you, then He has favoured you.
Maybe, you may be thinking, " O I'm nice to everybody. I don't have any enemies. Everyone thinks well of me. Everyone wishes me well all the time. Perhaps it's because I myself do not think anything bad against others". My friend, you will be very wrong if you think this way. There are people who have it as their unholy assignment to be against you. Look at some of the things David prophesied that enemies can wish for a child of God.
Psalm 41:4-10 KJV - I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
5 Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?
6 And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
7 All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.
8 An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
10 But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
There are people who wish you dead and can't wait to attend your funeral. They are always secretly wishing the day they will hear about the news of your passing away. You won't believe it, would you, that such people exist?! There are people who don't want your name to be remembered at all.
There are people who actually team up to devise your hurt. Can you believe that? They stay up at night with your name on their lips and they plot how they can harm you.
There are people who want to spread lies and false news about you. They actually go about whispering negative things about you to others. Can you imagine that?
There are people who wish that an evil recurrent or terminal disease will come upon you so that your end will be imminent.
Even your own familiar friends can lift up their heels against you and stump you in the belly so hard if ever they had the chance to do so. You may not know it, but evil seeks to finish you as you pursue your life and destiny as a child of God.
But you get to know that you are special and chosen, when God saves you from all these desires of your enemies. When God saves you, don't take it lightly. It is a big message that God really likes you.
My friend, make a journal and chronicle the deliverances, salvations and conversions that God has brought into your life. These are God's testimonies to let you know that He favours you.
Why must you become sure that God favours you? You need to know because that gives you so much boldness to walk on as a Christian and accomplishes all that He has sent you into this world, because you know He is with you. God is with you, but His presence with you may not mean much if it cannot impart boldness into your life. You will be bold to fructify your calling when you become sure that God favours you.
Psalm 41:11 AMP - By this I know that You favor and delight in me,
Because my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.
When God shows you mercy in a day of trouble, He has favoured you. Don't take it lightly when God reveals it to you that He favours you.
