When Jesus met the woman at the well, He congratulated her for her honesty in confessing that she had no husband, even though she was at that in her 6th "marriage". This woman must have been a woman who was a hard believer in marriage. Even though her previous relationships had failed for one reason or the other, she still continued to believe in marriage. It was clear by this 6th time, she was exasperated and disappointed that she did not have a faithful partner in even this supposed sixth spouse.
