1 Samuel 16:1-4 KJVS
And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Beth–lehemite: for I have provided a me a king among his sons.
And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the LORD. [3] And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will shew thee what thou shalt do: and thou shalt anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee. And Samuel did that which the Lord spake..."
When you walk with the Lord, you must understand how He operates. Hidden within your obedience to one instruction is a next step and another next step and another step with the Lord. God will show you next steps to take if only you can gather courage to obey the first thing He is saying at any point in time.
Samuel was faced with fear when God asked him to go anoint another king in Saul' s stead. He feared for his life! Yet, he did not allow his fear of death stop him from obeying God. In order to obey God, you must be shown something to obey. In order to do what God wants you to do, you must be shown it in the first place. The Bible says, " I will show you what you should do".
Psalm 32:8 KJVS
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Pray that God will show you what you ought to do. It makes all the difference! Pray that you can hear the Lord and see the things He presents before you. Pray that you will be shown exactly what God wants you to do. That can be all that will ever take away your deepest fears and insecurities. When God shows you what to do, you have something better to tremble before than the fear of death. Pray that God will instruct you and teach you in exactly what you are supposed to do next in your life.
