When you were a kid, did you ever get in trouble and it seemed as if the punishment didn’t fit the crime. I can remember my father telling me one time to make sure that I picked up my toy guns out of the yard.  He had run over more than one on the mower.  I had a really bad habit of leaving my toys wherever my imagination left them.  Dad told me over and over and over again. One day dad told me to pick up the guns in the yard and every gun I didn’t pick up, we were going to throw away. So sure enough the next day, I ignored him and I had to throw away my favorite gun it was a black sawed off shotgun with and orange pump. I was so upset. It seemed as if the punishment didn’t fit the crime. Well in 2 Samuel 6, we see a punishment that feels way too harsh that the sin warranted and on today’s podcast we’ll discover why God was so upset and what we should learn from this harsh penalty for such a seemingly innocuous sin.
