Suppose you just graduated from law school and you were asked to go to a country that had been destroyed but was just now coming together again as a nation. Suppose you were asked to construct and devise the entire system of law for that new nation. How might you feel in that moment? It’s quite a heavy responsibility to be sure. Where might you start? If you said, I might do a lot of praying, you’d be correct. This is exactly where Ezra started when tasked with this exact circumstance. It’s a truth we’ll consider today from Ezra chapter 8.
