Revenge on injustice is a common theme in many action movies today. Something inside of us longs for a reckoning against injustice. As long as injustice abounds, we will live unsettled. But did you know that this longing reveals within us a yearning for the rule of a divine kingdom? Our sense of justice is inextricably linked to our understanding of law and what promotes human flourishing. That just and perfect reality will never be accomplished in this world so long as her leaders are flawed and fallible. But one day, that world will be a reality, when the divine King sits in judgment and rules the world from His holy city. This future vision is spoken of in Joel chapter 3 and on today’s podcasts we’ll investigate it together and consider some of the ramifications of it for us today.
