Description

“The Old Testament Characters are not to be models for morality, they are mirrors for identity.” These are the words of Dr. Robert Smith in his introduction to Jonah. He says it’s a book with jagged edges. Like a hangnail, it should grate and snag on our hearts and expose our own sinfulness as we consider its message. We should see ourselves in this story filled with divine irony and satire as we study it together. Before we dive into the book, let me encourage you to watch the overview video linked in the show notes for today’s episode. It’s incredibly helpful in understanding the book and how it’s designed.
