How do you respond when God does something in your midst that is unexpected? Often times the plans of God seem unclear and quite unconventional in the moment. But it it’s always been that way. Ask Moses at the Red Sea, or Joshua at the walls of Jericho, or David facing a giant, or Daniel in a den of lions, or Hebrew children in a fire. God rarely follows human intuition in the working out of His will. How we respond in these moments says a lot about our trust or lack of trust in God. True humility and submission to that unconventional plan is the mark of genuine obedience. It’s an example powerfully demonstrated for us in the Incarnation in Luke chapter 1.
