Tonight's guest on the Shop Class Podcast is David Almanzan, an Automotive Technology instructor in Houston Texas. He mainly teaches at the high school level for Andy Dekaney High School at Spring Independent School District. He's also an adjunct instructor for Houston Community College as well as bilingual instructor for Delphi Technologies. His whole life has always revolved around cars. Whether at the shop or on the track, he was intrigued by how machines function. Teaching was not the initial goal, but he crossed paths with the opportunity and enjoys every moment of it. Seeing the speedy evolution of the automotive industry, he noticed a growing need for technicians. The masters are phasing out of the field and he believes it's his duty to help fill those gaps while making a difference one student at a time.
