Micheal Azira is a member of New Mexico United of the USL Championship, the second division of American soccer. Azira has spent his life devoted to the game he loves and is committed to helping those who need the support both on and off the field with his foundation, Azira Micheal Youth Foundation. The Azira Micheal Youth Foundation was born as an expression of gratitude to someone whose unconditional love and support could only be repaid by paying it forward. The mission is to use sports as a vehicle to give children in Uganda access to education, nutrition and character development. Without the help of volunteers and generous donors they couldn’t afford to help the children they seek to serve by the means and opportunities to follow and fulfill their dreams. The foundations vision is to build an athletic and scholastic facility that will become a beacon of hope, love and prosperity for Ugandan youths and its people, while serving as a model for other communities. Micheal has spent time with the Seattle Sounders, C.F. Montreal and the Chicago Fire FC of MLS along with a few stops at various USL teams and even had the chance of a lifetime to play for the Ugandan National Team.
