COA is a thing! Did you know that? I didn't until 2016 when I was 47 and I am a COA. I am a Child Of an Alcoholic. I am an ACOA, an Adult Child Of an Alcoholic. Discovering this has been a huge part of my healing, and although it has been hard at times, I am so glad to have been on this journey. I talk about my childhood as a COA, how it affected me as an adult and how it still does to this day. Knowing about it has helped me understand myself more and make changes for better. It has been tough but worth it. If you are an ACOA know that it isn't just you and you are not alone.
