Description

I came across Elaine in an online writing group we both joined and we started following each other on Instagram. We would comment on each other's posts and in November she took part in a 3o day gratitude challenge where she posted every day with a different word as the day's prompt. I loved her posts and asked her to come on the podcast. She posts on Instagram as @postive_prickles and she started her account as an outlet for her writing after leaning into a nudge from inside herself to do it. "Why not?" she thought and it was another "Why not?" that saw her agree to talk to me. Can you try the "Why not" approach to an opportunity that comes your way? It's interesting that in being open to opportunities they seem to find us.

We talk about our difficulties identifying as writers, what Elaine gets from her writing and how it helps her connect with her true inner self. She also talks about the connections she has made through her writing and how it helps the people reading but also herself. It's a win win. We talk about what bravery and courage look like for introverts as opposed to extroverts and as introverts how important it is to learn to say yes to things that work for us and no to things that don't. And that is ok. Realising that our interpretation of things as children can limit our view as adults is a real aha moment and that if we can be open to change those interpretations many more things become possible. I loved this conversation and I hope you do too.
