Description

Discovering and embracing that I am a highly sensitive person (HSP) has been a big part of my healing journey and in this episode I am talking to Julie Aird who is an HSP too. We talk candidly about our different journeys discovering we are HSPs, our daily experience of living with this amazing trait and the self-care techniques that keep our tanks full to avoid being in perpetual crisis management mode.

Learning about the HSP personality trait has helped both of us embrace the people we really are rather than who we have been in told in the past we should be. We both see high sensitivity as a great gift and it is an amazing ability and strength to use in our work as coaches.

Around 1 in 5 people have the HSP trait and around 30% of HSPs are more extroverted with the other 70% leaning towards introversion. Julie is the extrovert and I'm the introvert and we talk about the stereotypical idea of a sensitive introvert versus what it is actually like for us every day as HSPs. We also talk about how to look after ourselves as HSPs to make sure we are at our best so we can be there for others.
