This week on Clear Lake Connections Podcast presented by UTMB Health: Meet Amanda McLauchlin, Coalition Manager at the Bay Area Alliance for Youth and Families, and Chairman of the Nonprofit Engagement Committee at the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
In this week’s episode Amanda discusses the many ways that the Bay Area Alliance for Youth and Families continue to push their mission to “serve, support & inspire students and families to create a healthier community for all” by their many different programs including SALSA, Circle of Care, Drug Take Back, and many others. Amanda talks about the unique way they have found to raise money with Dancing with the Stars Bay Area and how this fundraiser has continued to grow over the years to needing a bigger venue this year. Amanda gives insight on how her board and many other nonprofit boards work and how the Alliance has come full circle with a current board member that was one of their past students. Lastly, Amanda discusses the importance of volunteerism in the community and how her team at the alliance show their appreciation to their many selfless volunteers.
