They say that fortune favors the brave. The risk-takers, the entrepreneurs, the envelope pushers all share it in common: the ability to take a chance on a dream regardless of the fear of failure.
Jon Ramaekers knew he wanted to become a farmer, but without a land inheritance, he realized it would be almost impossible. Jon’s family tree was lined with farmers, but the occupation skipped a generation with Jon’s father. Knowing what he desired, Jon dug his boots in and worked as hard as he could to learn everything about the agricultural trade.
The opportunity came knocking in the way of retirement plans for Tom and Diane Decker, previous owners of Farmers Best Popcorn. In the retirement stage of life, the couple knew they wanted to pass the torch of business ownership; subsequently, they found the future of their company in Jon Ramaekers, and the rest is history.
Listen in to hear how never giving up on a dream, led to an opportunity of a lifetime! Jon Ramaekers now owns a premium white popcorn farm located in the rolling hills and premium fertile soil of Worthington, Iowa. Producing the finest, family-grown popcorn to be found in the Midwest, or anywhere in the USA.
