Description

The small-town sense of “it takes a village to raise a child” proved to be true when cancer gripped her mother. Her hometown provided the support and love Summer needed when her mother’s disease ravaged her mom’s body and mind. Refusing to allow the disease to conquer her spirit, Summer’s mother continued to show her strength and tenacity until her last day. These early lessons proved crucial in showing Summer how to maneuver the challenges of life. Slater Hall provided the avenue for love at The University of Iowa. After a successful Alamo Bowl for her husband and the Iowa Hawkeye football team, it was time to start their new careers. After years of trying to start a family with no blessing, Summer sought medical advice. Infertility griped her young family and the road forward was everything but conventional. But, with determination and grit Summer prevailed. Today, she has a beautiful family with four blessings! Listen in to hear her walk on this journey we call life!
