Timothy Oyungu was born in Nairobi, nestled in the middle of Kenya, on the eastern coast of Africa. His father held multiple degrees, including a Doctorate. He taught at University and always stressed the importance of schooling. Accounting is his mother’s profession, having scored third highest in the country’s national accounting exam upon graduation of college. They sent Tim to a boarding school to continue his education past grade school. The time at boarding school showed Tim a lot about life. Intense bullying and intimidation taught Tim to stand up for himself and survive, preparing him for his future. His parents always instilled the value of education, and with that, they offered him a shot to “Go to the States” to further his education. With a lack of maturity, college in America failed miserably. Tim worked odd jobs to survive, ultimately falling below the poverty line. Without a permanent residence, he couldn’t obtain a high-profile job to make ends meet for his growing family. He had to make a change, Tim entered the US Air Force and was granted citizenship through his military service. He received training and experience in Information Technology and is now a Senior Technology Analyst in San Antonio, Texas. He has seen his life come “full circle”. Listen now, to hear his whole story!
