Lewy Body Dementia steals your memory, restricts thinking, and inhibits your movement progressively over time. Kevin Dill has lived the life of a thousand men, so it was imperative that I sat down with him as soon as possible.
We got into detail about his traumatic childhood growing up in Evansdale, Iowa, and we discussed the gripping story behind his enlistment into the United States Marine Corps. Ultimately, Kevin was selected for the special duty assignment of Marine Corps Embassy Security Group, which led Kevin all over the world protecting America’s interests.
With the roller coaster that is life, we don’t have the ability to choose the good from the bad. Sitting with Kevin was, and will always be, a constant reminder that we not waste the time we are given while we’re here.
As Kevin so eloquently stated, the disease may be able to take certain things from him, but it will never be able to take his heart.
Someday, Kevin won’t be able to tell these stories…and when that happens, they will be here as a reminder of the life that one man chose to live.
