Colleen Nemmers' lifelong obsession with any and every animal fueled her desire to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. From a very early age, Colleen focused on doing everything within her capabilities to succeed in her dream of becoming a vet.
Having grown up on the East Coast, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Colleen’s college destination is what ultimately brought her to the Midwest. Initially shocked by the cultural differences, Colleen grew to love her collegiate experience at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, in Ames. Upon graduation in 2009, she took an internship in Denver, Colorado, studying emergency management, radiology procedures, and surgery in small animals. Currently, Colleen owns and operates her own veterinary clinic, Companion Animal Clinic and Pet Resort, with her husband, Dr. Ben Nemmers, and Dr. Amanda Deutsch.
