The Boston Celtics came out and struggled to hit shots in the first quarter but once that quarter ended, all struggles went out the window, The Celtics went on to outscore the Bucks by 34 points in the next 3 quarters and everything was working. The identity of this team all season long was defense and tonight, we made former Giannis WORK for every opportunity and held the Bucks to just 81 points!!! Offensively, we had some monster performances but none bigger than Grant Williams who led the team with 27pts on 7-18 from 3!!! He was absolutely phenomenal tonight and was a huge reason the Celtics set an NBA record with 22 made 3's in a Game 7. The Jays both played a great game and we got a double double from Marcus Smart as well.
This was as impressive of a performance as we've seen in a while from this Celtics team. At the end of the day, taking 55 3's is too much BUT that is the type of offense the Bucks force you to play. One of the big differences in tonight's game was the fact that the 3's were all pretty wide open due to the Celtics being much more aggressive getting into the lane and dishing out from there. With this monster win, the Celtics move on the Eastern Conference Finals to face off against the Miami Heat! Game 1 is on Tuesday night s get ready Celtics Nation! Celtics in 6!
