Description

The NGO Leadership Podcast Summit is a powerful series of podcast interviews with international leaders and nonprofit executives who tell their stories of how true transformation is impacting change in the US and around the globe.

In this episode Diana Ferrell and podcast host Annie Vander Werff discuss the power of how identifying local resources, leveraging funding, and transforming a foundational program into a new way of serving women is possible!

Diana Ferrell was invited by the Pastor of Unity Baptist Church in Ashland, KY, to go to Uganda in January of 2001. Diana arrived in Jinja, Uganda, on February 12, 2002 when she stepped into the mission field. Taking on an already existing program, Diana connected with the local community in a way that guided her to transform the original missionary’s work to one that is now called Compassionate Women Initiative that serves women to provide training courses in Trauma Healing that teaches the forgiveness of Christ. CWI also trains in reproductive health called Wise Choices for Life training the youth in how to make decisions about their life partner and how many children to have. It is all taken from a Christian worldview. Diana has been in Uganda 19 years and will continue doing the Lord's work in Uganda until He moves her to a new ministry place.
