For today's episode, we had an incredible designer, Melissa Boock, who was one of the original designers for the #BratzDolls, and has also worked on #toy products ranging from #AngryBirds to #JoJoSiwa. She is also a big #ActionBronson fan and we had a fun detour down #concert memory lane.

Art and creating tangible things are what has always driven me. From the time I could hold a pencil, I was tracing the fashion sketches in Lord & Taylor ads in the New York Times. When it came time for college, studying fashion at my dream school was a natural fit and I entered the Fashion Institute of Technology with full intention of pursuing my love of fashion and art as a full-fledged career. It was there, after receiving my degree, that I focused my attention on toy design and decided to pursue the industry and learn every aspect of the business from top to bottom and graduated with a dual degree that would chart my course to continued creativity and success as a toy designer.
My background in fashion has informed my aesthetic and approach as a toy designer and is evidenced in my work designing for the Bratz Doll line for MGA. It was there that I created and spearheaded the doll line BFC INK and continued to innovate toys that resonated with the target consumer while pushing the current boundaries of what toys could be. Through my 7 years working for MGA, I conquered everyday challenges and met high creativity demands, honing my artistic skills as well as my business acumen for developing successful launch strategies and lines.
Now back on the east coast, I worked at Cra-z-art and New Adventures where I have rebranded and created new lines that have brought the company success. Recently at Just Play, where I work with Nickelodeon on Jojo, Toys R US on Journey Girls and created new IPs for 2021.
