Shayla is a motivated mom boss devoted to a life of family, friends, and fitness. She completed her commerce degree from the University of Calgary and has been working in the direct sales industry for 13 years. She was offered a sole proprietorship for Vector Marketing that has flourished into one of the top-ranked offices in all of North America. Her team finished #1 in Canada last year and are on pace to surpass $1million in sales this year. She spends her days mentoring the next generation of young business owners. Shayla is committed to helping people live a life that satisfies their values, which she models by being a present mom, wife, leader and business owner. Shayla and her husband Brad had traveled the world with their kids Carter & Brooklynn. She believes that consistently growing her capacity is the key to experiencing more of the amazing opportunities life has to offer with the same about of time. When Shayla's plate gets full, she gets a bigger plate. Shayla is beyond grateful for the life she has created and is excited about the future as she continues to learn, grow and dream.
Sabrina pulls out that as moms we make a lot of excuses as to why we can’t do, X or Y or Z. We have a tendency to harness the negative self-talk. Shayla is breaking barriers and stepping outside of the box as a leader for women.

Shayla explains that what keeps her in line is being really well planned and organized. She likes to review 18 months ahead for her planning regime. She explains that she and her husband have a date night every Wednesday night. She also shares that she takes every Wednesday off of work, it does not exist in her work world. This helps tame the busy-ness and reset mid-week. She protects this with the support of a great team and family. It is imperative to get your village on board with your scheduling.
Shayla dives into how she created The MomBossConnection and explains that it is all about. Success can be defined in so many ways. Her version of success with MomBossConnection was to get like-minded moms together and empower one another.
The mamas dive into the stigma around the word “boss” as they have been getting some flack from the masses on this word. Being a boss is not a literal term. It does not mean you are bossy or the boss of people, it means owning your life, being in control of what you do. You are driven, motivated, in the driver’s seat.
The mamas dive into the myth that is work/life balance. Shayla uses the analogy of her life as a pie. Her hubby is a piece, her kids are another slice, business, all of it just pieces of a larger pie.
