Jenn Clempner is a Singer-Pianist, Music Director for theatre and choirs, an Independent Vocal Coach, Multi-instrumentalist, Mental Health advocate & Lecturer in Music. She has toured extensively throughout the UK, Germany and Los Angeles, working with bands such as The Hoosiers and spent a number of years based in London managing indie record label, Beatroute Records. Jenn set up an independent singing school in 2014 which offers holistic voice training for professional creatives.
Through this Jenn has coached professional musicians, vocalists and actors across the country. Jenn’s own training began in theatre, but as her career has progressed the realms of acting and pop music have continued to cross over and often merge. Their convergence has highlighted one constant, which is the struggle with mental illness in creative adults.
This, and numerous other reasons, is why Jenn has chosen to pursue a PhD researching mental illness and neurodiversity in popular music, taking an ethnographical approach throughout her continued creative practise and work within academia.
Produced by Rec Rooms, The Kicking Back Podcast is an audio and video podcast hosted by video producer and musician Brad Ingham. It discusses Arts, Music and many other topics with a different Artist/ Creative in each episode.
