Rafaela Nunes is a local therapist who in 2018, set up her counselling practice ‘threadUp’ in Ancoats - Manchester; with the aim of supporting and improving the mental health of the creative community specifically. Rafaela says: “I’m so grateful to have a thriving counselling practice dedicated to Creatives. Though I welcome clients from all different backgrounds, my passion is centred around supporting creatives and developing a practice that is sensitive to their specific issues; themes such as sustained financial uncertainty, trauma, identity issues, anxiety & depression, are things I commonly support my clients with. Since working with musicians, writers, comedians, fashion & creative designers, it also became clear that certain creative environments can at times exacerbate mental health issues and greater support is needed. My vision is to expand what I do on a one to one basis, on to large creative events such as festivals/fringes, with the service ‘threadUp-pitchUp.’
We also have some music from the mesmerising John Haycock in the episode too, its an absolute belter! 🙏🎧
