Karman is an avant-garde art-pop musician based in Liverpool. Inspired by the Japanese visual kei movement, 90's trip-hop, industrial and other subcultures; Karman creates distinct worlds and moods by welcoming the weird and wonderful. Combining haunting vocals with hard-hitting, experimental electronics, Karman calls for change in the current musical philosophy of the Liverpool scene. In her recent EP Akuma, she explores our inner demons and the shame surrounding woman hood and emotional trauma. She opens up a conversation about taking control of your own destiny by looking at the past and the isolation of the queer, female experience in the music industry.
