In this week’s episode Jacinta and Raphael go back a few thousand years and uncover some mythical memoirs of monolithic proportions. It seems not much has changed since those ‘good old days’ when heroes and gods roamed the earth, causing confusion with their bows and arrows (and genitals) and epically sized desires. Metamorphosing into “golden showers”, bulls, and a menagerie of other totally mundane and normal things; shacking up with goddesses while leaving your long suffering wife to deal (or not deal) with the fallout; abandoning women on remote islands; hitting men in the head with flying rocks; it’s a miscellany of monsters and mayhem.
What could be more relevant to our sex lives today than the bizarre and ancient world of mythology? The answer, they think you’ll agree, is ‘not much’!
While there are no personal or ‘real’ stories of rape and sexual assault, if these are triggers for you, please note that these concepts are explored through the concepts of Greek (and other) myths, and discussed more generally throughout the episode. Listener discretion is advised.
