Description

Welcome one and all! -- In episode 3, I sit down with my amazing internet friend Malaika to discuss creativity, the power of rest and introspection, the importance of keeping your hobby as A HOBBY (and not feeling the need to give in to societal pressures to turn it into a business), and other stories.

Malaika ( @blessedwithcolour ) is a multi-hyphenate creative and hobbyist who is currently pursuing her BA in Event Management and Japanese. Malaika enjoys various hobbies including photography, content creation, journalling, painting, spending time in nature, traveling and exploring various cultures, etc.

It was such a pleasure to catch up with Malaika after our IG live chat back in June 2020. Always a good time. Always so insightful, enlightening, and encouraging. Please enjoy x

 +TLDR, Malaika and I discuss:

- Her current experience studying abroad in Japan from the comfort of her bedroom in the UK and the creative ways she has been virtually immersing herself into Japanese culture.

- The major role that rest and introspection have played on her spiritual journey and creative process.

- Playing the balancing act of stay informed while also protecting your mental and spiritual wellbeing.

- Being a beginner creative and often sharing your work with a silent audience, but staying true to the process. (Keep going!! Keep sharing. Stay your course. Someone somewhere is paying attention and being motivated by what you have to share.)

- Creating freely and not feeling the need to box yourself a niche as a beginner creative. (Have fun. Stay curious.)

- Not giving in to today's pressures of monetizing every hobby!!!

- Focusing on your path, and trusting the journey and God's divine timing.

+Today's Meditations:

- WNRS question -What are you currently working on that others don't see?

- What role do rest and introspection play in your creative process?

- What are some of your hobbies? (Things you do purely for fun or an escape, that you are not looking to monetize anytime soon.)
