On this episode, Dan and Pat are joined by David Shapiro again (previously on Episode 5) to discuss the recent victory for the appellant in Beaman v. Freesmeyer before the Illinois Supreme Court. After being wrongfully convicted and incarcerated for 13 years, in 2008, Beaman's conviction was overturned and he was subsequently pardoned on the basis of being innocent. He is now pursuing state law claims against the officers who he claims maliciously prosecuted him after having his Section 1983 claims dismissed by the 7th Circuit.
