Olin Lagon struggled through school attending four public high schools on Oahu, dropping out at one point and then completing an alternative learning track. Since high school, Olin has been a serial social entrepreneur, innovator, and community organizer, currently focused on clean energy. He founded multiple companies, nonprofits, and an educational nonprofit. He invented and launched the first commercial crowdfunding service which scaled to channel $100 million to fund causes worldwide before being acquired. He holds multiple patents and his designs have been adopted by numerous Global 1000 companies and institutions like MIT. His inventions have been adopted by Global 1000 companies across five very different industries. He has spoken at conferences worldwide including a keynote speaker at Microsoftʻs Annual Developerʻs Conference. His community service includes the U.S. Navy, the Peace Corps, and numerous nonprofits. He’s a past Petra Fellow (Center for Community Change) and East West Center Fellow (general studies focused on software engineering and Asian industrialization). Summa Cum Laude UH Manoa graduate. Raised in public housing, Olin now lives in Kalihi Valley with his wife and two sons.
