In this episode, our guest Rachael Finnerty shares with us what proactive wellness is and why she believes that music therapy is a proactive approach to mental health. Rachael is also a PhD candidate and talks about her research and the results so far. As the founder of the Music Therapy Academy, she discusses the ultimate goal of the academy.

Here is a little more about Rachael:

Rachael has been a music therapist for 20 years, she served as the president of the Music Therapy Association of Ontario from 2010-2014 and was the recipient of the YWCA Woman of Distinction Award, for Healthcare in 2015. Rachael brought 2 music therapy courses to McMaster University in 2010 and currently educates over 2000 students each academic year about music therapy.
