Charles began his recovery at 23 and, though there were moments relapse, he now celebrates 31 years in recovery.
Jim and Charles discuss his youth and home life, the introduction to addiction, and the many unique experiences that shaped his perspective on life -- both through and following his struggle with substance abuse.
Charles speaks on his active self-reflection, taking the focus off himself and learning, through practice, that a life in service of others offers incredible return on investment for himself.
He communicates the value of "staying the course" and trusting that the faith you put in yourself and in those around you will serve to pull you through the everyday difficulties we all see.
In recovery, Charles also returned to school, ultimately on a path to opening his Chiropractic practice, and is the founding member in ALTRU, continuing to live in service of others in need.
