Just like this week, it was Passover time, and thousands of pilgrims are flocking to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. Jesus and His disciples are among the pilgrims arriving from the east, via Jericho, where Jesus had recently healed blind Bartimaeus. They are staying in Bethany, most likely with Mary and Martha, and their brother Lazarus, whom Jesus had just raised from the dead. It is quite possible that both Bartimaeus and Lazarus were with Jesus on their way into Jerusalem. Wouldn’t that cause quite a stir?
