Unfortunately, the ancient world didn’t always teach this or think of children as blessings. Children were often seen as a nuisance. As the old saying goes, children should be seen and not heard. Also, if a child wasn’t wanted many would be killed or left to die. Sadly, many were left to die simply because they were the wrong gender—a girl rather than a boy. Disabled or disfigured children were abandoned. Children were disposable. Then Jesus came. He came as a child. And He said things about children no one had said before, and a quiet revolution was started.
