God’s command, first and foremost, is that we love Him and love one another. We are adept at making all kinds of excuses, including religious excuses, for not doing that. And, of course, that’s not the only command we work around. I wonder how many of Jesus’ commands I avoid, ignore or rationalize away. When we are so focused on the rules, we can easily lose sight of loving people. We must choose love over law.
