501 - 7: Lock & Key to the Secret Place
These things said He that is holy, He that is true, He that has the key of David, He that opens, and no man shuts; and shuts, and no man opens;
I know your works: behold, I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it... (Revelation 3:7-8 AKJV)
The Lord holds the key of David. What key did he have? The Bible records David mentioning the Secret place three times.
David held the key to the Secret Place, which the Lord now holds. The earth operates under certain rules that God has put into place.
I am he that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for ever more, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (Revelation 1:18 AKJV)
Jesus is saying this to one of His churches in the Book of Revelation. He had to come and live on earth and die and be raised from death in order to receive the keys to hell and death. Also, while He lived on earth, He continually saw what His Father was doing. This seeing into the spiritual realm may very well be part of the Secret Place because we now know that Jesus holds the key of David as well.
And the key of the house of David will I lay on His shoulder; so He shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. (Isaiah 22:22 AKJV)
Isaiah is speaking a prophecy about what will happen. God says, “the key… will I lay.” The verb is future tense, meaning it wasn’t there as Isaiah spoke this prophecy about the coming of our Lord. Praise God that our Lord now has that key! In a visit with Jesus in the Secret Place, He revealed what is necessary for Him to use that key to open the door and invite you in!
