Episode 50: Leaders Get Everyone on The Same Page
Someone said: You can’t write a story together if you’re not on the same page.
When all the team members are on the same page there’s no blame game going on; There’s focus; There’s no hidden agendas; Success becomes the agenda.
As a leader, you need to assess where your team members are at in their conversation. Listen carefully to
Who is negative?
Who is talking vision?
Who are coming up with opportunities?
Who are evaluating opportunities?
Who are committed to action?
Who is still dealing with a setback?
And then you need to move that conversation forward to get everyone on the same page.
Without being on the same page there is no consistency. Everyone is talking a different conversation in their head. The worst is, they could be stuck in that conversation.
The cascade effect of doing a leadership tune - up with the whole team can be so beneficial, it results in all the members of the team being able to assess and adjust to the overall direction or “page” of the team and everyone then can get to moving in the right direction. Best of all, you have the opportunity to journey with them to bring focused conversation.
