Jack Hanson said: Build up your team, to build up yourself.
Having motivational strategies are absolutely necessary for the team to keep moving forward and keep performing at a high level.
No, it's not because you can speak well and give motivational speeches, but because you have taken time to develop and focus on some strategies that build and maintain team morale.
It forms part and parcel of your team engagement strategy.
You can have a team or staff of the most skilled people, but if they are not engaged and motivated to work together in sync, you team will not perform, at least not to the level of their potential.
Bob Nelson said: An employee’s motivation is a direct result of the sum of interactions with his or her manager.
As the leader, it's your responsibility to provide these interactions on a consistent basis to keep the positive motivation high. A motivated team is a more productive team. Your employees are human and require the human element of leadership for their motivation.
Another strategy for your team motivation is to prepare the right type of messages they need in the different situations they may find themselves in, and based on what they are doing.
Does it need to be a work/life message?
Or a message about determination and focus?
Does it need to be confidence boosting message?
Does it need to be encouraging?
Does it need to be congratulatory?
Or maybe a message of appreciation?
It could be serious, funny or team related, but taking the time to prepare some for the individuals on your team can go a long way to them working at their best for the team.
You don’t build a business. You build people, and then people build the business. This is what leadership is.
