Since it’s discovery in 1901, the Code of Hammurabi has been a monumental piece of ancient near eastern archaeology. This 7 feet by 6 feet diorite slab contains almost 300 paragraphs of legal provision. It is often compared and contrasted with the Law of Moses which came over 3 centuries or so later.
