A oração perseverante e cheia de coragem, repleta de fé e de humildade é a força que alcança dons e graças, é a força que vence a Deus! Para vencermos as tentações devemos rezar insistentemente. Como estamos rezando hoje em dia? Em casa, nas paróquias será que estamos sendo perseverantes na oração? Trecho do Evangelho de São Marcos 10, 46-53: Então chegaram a Jericó. Quando Jesus e seus discípulos, juntamente com uma grande multidão, estavam saindo da cidade, o filho de Timeu, Bartimeu, que era cego, estava sentado à beira do caminho pedindo esmolas. Quando ouviu que era Jesus de Nazaré, começou a gritar: "Jesus, Filho de Davi, tem misericórdia de mim!" Muitos o repreendiam para que ficasse quieto, mas ele gritava ainda mais: "Filho de Davi, tem misericórdia de mim!" Jesus parou e disse: "Chamem-no". E chamaram o cego: "Ânimo! Levante-se! Ele o está chamando". Lançando sua capa para o lado, de um salto pôs-se em pé e dirigiu-se a Jesus. "O que você quer que eu faça?", perguntou-lhe Jesus. O cego respondeu: "Mestre, eu quero ver!" "Vá", disse Jesus, "a sua fé o curou". Imediatamente ele recuperou a visão e seguiu Jesus pelo caminho.
Persevering and courageous prayer, full of faith and humility is the strength that achieves gifts and graces, it is the strength that overcomes God! To overcome temptations, we must pray insistently. How are we praying today? At home, in parishes, are we persevering in prayer? Excerpt from the Gospel of St. Mark 10, 46-53: Then they arrived in Jericho. When Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, Timaeus' son, Bartimaeus, who was blind, was sitting by the road begging. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout: "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Many scolded him to be quiet, but he shouted even more: "Son of David, have mercy on me!" Jesus stopped and said, "Call him". And the blind man was called: "Cheer up! Get up! He's calling you." Throwing his cloak aside, he leapt to his feet and addressed Jesus. "What do you want me to do?" Asked Jesus. The blind man replied, "Master, I want to see!" "Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." He immediately recovered his vision and followed Jesus on the way.
