Jasko Begovic, also known as Sko Habibi, has a life story and perspective that anyone can find value and inspiration from. Growing up in a small village in former Yugoslavia, Jasko fled the country at 12 when war erupted. Jasko's journey as a refugee of war took him to Germany and Croatia before settling in the Bay Area as a teenager. He is known prominently as an artist, soccer coach, and mentor who's work on and off the pitch is a reflection of his life journey thus far and his optimism of the future. His art spans from paintings and illustrations to up-cycled vintage textiles and masks, each telling a story unique in its own way. In Episode 03, Jasko shares stories of his childhood in Yugoslavia, his recent collaboration with Oakland Roots on the short film HumanE.T., how soccer saved his life, his untraditional philosophies for training, and what's in store next for him.
