⚽️For Footballers Only⚽️

🗣Keith Fletcher ✅

Keith was born into the game. His father was a footballer in Europe before the family moved back to Grenada and later Trinidad.  In Trinidad is when he fell in love with the game, playing with friends in the streets.

We walk through his journey as a child of a footballer, his move to Trinidad, his experiences playing on the youth national teams of both Trinidad and Grenada, the influence of an older neighborhood friend on his development, his father’s influence and how he has used that to guide the development of his son, Kristian Fletcher.

The discussion about how to approach the development process for young footballers is a master class.

To help parents and clubs, he provides a simple assessment that any parent can do.

Parents should ask themselves if they would select their child for an all-star team based on the child performance in competition.  Start with picking the best 11 from the current game, then pick the best 11 players per position from all the competition this season, then look at the entire state.  If you don’t think your child is the best in their position from all the competitions this season then it’s ok to lessen the pressure and set realistic goals.

This is a great conversation. It’s a masterclass for parents of young footballers.
