To each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.
—Ephesians 4:7
Scripture reading: Ephesians 4:1–16
1. The apostle Paul spoke about the grace and the gifts of Christ—not the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but the gifts of Christ.
2. The five fold ministry (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers) are Christ's gift to the church
3. Why did Christ give the five fold ministry to the church? For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, so that each believer grows up into Christ in all things, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
4. Stepping out to advance the Kingdom of God is not reserved to the five fold ministry, the five fold ministry equips all believers so that the believers step out to advance the Kingdom
