In today's episode of Psych Talk, I discuss various strategies to better your mental health outside of therapy. Therapy is inaccessible to so many people, yet, there are evidence-based ways to improve mental health and reduce depressive and anxious symptoms that individuals can implement in their every day life. In this episode I discuss a variety of strategies to improve your mental health, ranging from "basics" like good sleep and nutrition, to breathing exercises, and creative outlets. The suggestions in this episode are not a replacement for therapy, not a "cure" for mental health conditions, nor is it to dissuade people from seeking out mental health treatment.
